It’s the
perfect combination, having Bob, (co-owner), back in the build room overseeing the
quality of transmission rebuilding, and Rob Ekins, (the other owner), with all of his knowledge of
transmissions, up in the front office ensuring great customer service. At Puget Park
Transmission we value a long-term relationship with our customers.
Puget Park Transmission is a family
owned business. Rob Ekins and his brother-in-law, Bob Weesies, operate the company along
with Rob’s wife, Louise, who works in the front office. Rob and Bob started
working together repairing and building transmissions in the Seattle area in 1982. Long
before they started working together, they both had a love of anything mechanical,
especially cars. Even before they had their driver's licenses, they were always tinkering
with them. In some cases they were fixing them
because they broke down under their rigorous “testing of strength and power.” Their love of anything mechanical
overlapped into building high performance superstock motors and crewing for the “Strike
force SS900.” The strike force boat was a superstock, flat-bottom boat, which took the national
high points title in 1990. The North Seattle shop soon became too small, and in 1992 a
contractor was hired to build a larger shop in the growing community of South Everett, WA.
Rob, Bob and other family members helped in the construction of the new
building.
Puget Park Transmission’s shop area has five bays, including a bay that can accommodate larger trucks
and RV’s up to 18,000 pounds. The shop has a tear down room and a transmission build room,
as well as a state of the art electronic diagnostic equipment for diagnosing
transmission malfunctions. We employ technicians who are certified by the National Institute
of Automotive Service Excellence, and we are members of the Automatic Transmission Service Group.
